![]() It is slower than LR, primitive DAM, uninspiring layout and not really useable in the long run. ON1 is one of the overly hyped software in recent years. ON1 may not be the right choice regardless of how popular/cool/slick the software is. if you don't have a high performance GPU. I tried the software on my iMac (the model I have has an average GPU) and didn't have the slow issues I had on the laptop. When I would try to work on a RAW file in ON1 on my laptop I would have to wait 30 + seconds before the ON1 would respond when I opened the file. The Macbook Air has a crappy GPU because it isn't designed for graphic work. That is when I learned it is dependent on a good GPU. I tried ON1 on my laptop with the same files and I was shocked that the software was unusable. the laptop is completely usable when using Lightroom to process RAF or DNG. I use Lightroom on both to process Fuji RAW files (RAF) as well as DNG files (created from Fuji RAW files via X-Transformer).Įven though my laptop is old and a fraction of the processing power of my iMac. I have a powerful iMac and an older Macbook Air. Should you have a mediocre graphics card, you will find the performance of ON1 to be poor. I believe ON1 is very dependent on the computers GPU (graphics card).
